Privacy Policy

Overview
CreatorCodes collects only the data needed to operate the platform: helping shoppers get creator codes at checkout and crediting creators for recovered commissions. We do not sell personal data. This policy explains what we collect from each type of user, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What We Collect — Shoppers
When you use the CreatorCodes Chrome extension, we collect extension usage events: which checkout pages the extension activates on, which creator code (if any) was applied, and whether a purchase was completed. We do not collect the full contents of your shopping cart, your payment information, or your browsing history outside of checkout pages at supported brands.
We do not require shoppers to create an account. Usage events are tied to an anonymous session identifier, not to your name or email.
What We Collect — Creators
Creator accounts require an email address and display name. You may optionally provide an avatar and social profile links. We store the discount and affiliate codes you submit, along with the brands they apply to.
For billing, we collect a payment method via Stripe. CreatorCodes does not store full card numbers or CVV codes — that data lives with Stripe under their own privacy and security controls. We store a Stripe customer ID and payment method token to issue invoices when commissions are recovered.
How We Use Data
We use shopper usage events to attribute which creator's code led to a commission, so we can invoice correctly. We use aggregated, anonymised usage data to improve the extension — for example, to understand which brands see the most checkout activity and where the extension can be better tuned.
We use creator account data to manage your codes, process billing via Stripe, and communicate service updates. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.
Sharing
We never sell personal data. We share data with the following parties only as necessary to operate the service:
Stripe — to process creator billing. Stripe receives payment method details and invoice amounts. See stripe.com/privacy for their policy.
Database and infrastructure providers — our hosting and database providers store the data described above under operational agreements. They do not have permission to use your data for their own purposes.
Brand owners — code redemption events may be reported back to a brand's existing affiliate program as part of normal affiliate tracking. This is limited to the fact that a code was used; no additional shopper data is passed.
Cookies
The CreatorCodes website uses a minimal set of cookies: a session cookie to keep you logged in to the creator dashboard, an audience preference cookie to remember whether you arrived as a shopper or creator, and a creator referral binding cookie to associate a shopper session with the creator whose link brought them to the site.
We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or advertising cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time, though doing so will log you out of the creator dashboard.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time. To make a request, email hello@creatorcodes.com with the subject line "Data request". We will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests remove your account and associated data; anonymised usage events that cannot be linked back to you are retained for operational purposes.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy — for example, if we start collecting new categories of data — we will notify creators and registered users by email before the change takes effect. The current version is always available at creatorcodes.com/privacy.
